Privacy policy
This explains what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to reflect how the site actually works.
Who is responsible
This website is run by Abdullah Saqib, author of Inherited Borders. You can reach us through the contact form on the About page.
What we collect
- Borderless Diagnostic Index: your full name, email address, your answers to the fifteen scenarios, the calculated scores and profile, the time you took, the diagnostic version, and a record that you consented.
- Fellowship interest form: your name, email, optional location, and what you choose to tell us about your interest.
- Contact form: your name, email and message.
- Book release waitlist: your email address, your name if you choose to give it, whether you are waiting for the digital copy or the audiobook, and a record that you consented.
We do not ask for passwords or accounts, and we do not use advertising trackers on this site.
Why we collect it
To calculate and show your diagnostic result; to understand, in aggregate, how people respond to the scenarios as the diagnostic is developed and tested; to reply to messages; to follow up with people who register interest in the Fellowship; and to tell people when the book is released, if they joined the waitlist. Your answers are not used to make automated decisions about you.
How it is stored and who can see it
Submissions are stored in this project’s secure database. They are never publicly displayed. Visitors to the site cannot read anyone’s submissions; only the project administrator can access them through the protected backend.
Because we collect your name and email, your diagnostic responses are not anonymous. They are treated as confidential.
Email and newsletters
Taking the diagnostic or using a contact form does not subscribe you to anything. Joining the book release waitlist means we write to you about the book’s release, and about nothing else. This site does not currently send automated emails, so a waitlist message is sent by hand. The Journal newsletter is run separately by Substack under Substack’s own privacy policy; subscribing there is your choice and is not linked to the data held here.
Retention and deletion
We keep submissions only as long as they are useful for the purposes above. You can ask for your information to be shown to you, corrected or deleted at any time by writing to us with the email address you used; we will act on the request and confirm once it is done.
Changes
If how we handle information changes, this page will be updated first.
